Impresa Sicura: the grant for reimbursement of expenses incurred for the purchase of PPE

At the beginning of 2020, no one could have expected that Italy would come to a halt for two months due to a pandemic that later affected the entire world. From the onset of the lockdown, restrictive measures became necessary to contain the spread of COVID-19, forcing many businesses to temporarily shut down and halt all activities requiring direct contact with clients or colleagues.

The companies that managed to continue fulfilling their commitments and appointments were those that, when possible, adopted alternative working methods such as smart working.

Now, after two months of standstill, the time has come to fully resume activities, doing everything possible to restart. With the Law Decree of May 16, 2020, No. 33 and the DPCM of May 17, 2020, the government clearly laid out all the safety regulations that every company must adopt in order to work safely, thanks to the use of electronic devices and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Impresa Sicura: what is it?

Impresa Sicura is a measure provided by the Cura Italia decree (Law Decree 18/2020, Article 43, Paragraph 1) aiming to support the safe continuity of production processes for businesses of all sizes operating throughout the national territory.

The Invitalia call for applications allows companies to obtain reimbursement for expenses incurred in purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE) and other tools aimed at containing and countering the COVID-19 epidemiological emergency.

The reimbursement covers up to 100% of eligible expenses, subject to the available financial resources.

  • Maximum refundable amount: €500 per employee to whom the PPE is allocated, and up to a maximum of €150,000 per company.

  • Minimum refundable amount: not less than €500.

The Available resources are €50 million.
