With the considerable rise in fuel prices, a push toward ecological transition has become necessary. This is a highly relevant issue, both for motorists and institutions, which has led to the strengthening of energy incentives.
The Meloni government has, in fact, extended the 80% incentive for the installation of private electric vehicle charging stations also for the year 2023; €40 million will be allocated, ensuring a significant boost to infrastructure development.
“Private homes and condominiums will benefit from a €40 million fund to accelerate infrastructure deployment. An 80% bonus will be granted for purchase and installation, with a cap of €1,500 per applicant. The spending limit increases to €8,000 for common areas in condominium buildings.
The funds are based on 2022, but a change to the August DPCM has been proposed to extend the deadline for purchase and installation to December 31, 2023.”
Minister of Enterprises, Adolfo Urso, in an interview with La Repubblica.
The incentive will be available throughout the current year, according to the 2023 Milleproroghe Decree, the text of which was published in the Official Gazette on December 29.
How does the bonus work?
The charging station bonus allows for an 80% tax deduction on expenses incurred for the purchase of electric vehicle charging stations, installed in both private and condominium areas.
Unlike the Superbonus 110%, this is a direct grant disbursed by the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE).
Bonus features:
-
Grant or discount equivalent to 80% of the purchase and installation cost;
-
Maximum discount of €1,500 per individual applicant for domestic charging infrastructure;
-
Maximum limit of €8,000 for installation on common areas of condominium buildings, or for the purchase of condominium charging infrastructure.
The available resources (€40 million) can be used for the purchase and installation of standard power infrastructures (less than 22 kW) for electric vehicle charging.
